PAYTON HANSEN
GAME PRODUCER
ABOUT ME
At least once every year, my mom with tears in her eyes will pull out the old home videos and make an afternoon out of watching them. I get to watch 6 year old me rope my 2 sisters and my young, exasperated mother in being actors in some short play I had written. You can hear me behind the camera correcting them when they messed up their lines or directing them back to their spots on "stage". And of course when the credits rolled I was writer, director, cameraman, and producer.
Ever since I could remember I have been creating something. Whether that was painting, drawing, singing, photography, etc; The art of creation is what interested me the most. So when it came time to choose a career, choosing game development was a no brainer. It encapsulated everything I loved about creation and combining that with my love of leadership and people, game production is where I ultimately found my passion.
I moved across country from rural Virginia to pursue a Bachelors of Science in Games at the University of Utah. There I have been able to stretch my skills and really learn what It means to create.
